Welcome to the Pop-up Laughter Club and this laughter yoga session called “Fitness Laughter”
This is an online Laughter Yoga Class. You can purchase it for download and do laughter yoga as often as you want.
At the Pop-up Laughter club, we aim to provide you with a way to develop your humour mindset and a more playful attitude to life. We do that by combining exercises from positive psychology with laughter yoga.
In this video we share some of our popular laughter yoga exercises. Unlike most laughter clubs and laughter yoga providers out there, our laughter exercises are more than just clowning around or laughing for no reason. Our exercises have a reason: to improve your wellbeing and help you develop a mindset that can support you when you hit life’s challenges. So what is laughter yoga and what should you expect? Laughter yoga combines unconditional laughter with breathing exercises from yoga and a good helping of playfulness.
You don’t need to be a comedian or be funny. Maybe the one requirement is that you won’t take yourself too seriously as we are play-acting our way through the exercises.
That means
● No jokes
● No yoga mats
● But play acting and
● Deep breathing like you may know it from yoga.
Changing habits and mindsets requires practice. That’s why we recommend that you do these exercises daily. Ideally, we would recommend that you keep going for 3 weeks because research has shown that this is when we start to establish habits. However, we realise that sometimes life gets in the way, so just do it as often as you can and laugh about it if you miss a day.
Laughter Yoga is a physical exercise that makes your heart work harder, your lungs shift a lot more air and requires your upper body to support this movement. That’s why it is important that you don’t do these exercises if you have, for example, a cough or cold, if you have a heart condition, are pregnant or have a bad back.
